First Moon-Shaped Luxury Resort Might Open In Dubai Soon

Dubai, renowned for its opulence, is set to welcome an expansive moon-shaped resort, aiming to provide guests with an affordable terrestrial experience of space tourism. Moon World Resorts (MWR), a Canadian architectural firm, has proposed the ambitious project, named “Moon Dubai,” which is anticipated to be a luxurious replica of the lunar surface.

The proposed ultra-luxurious hotel, designed to be constructed in 48 months, boasts an impressive height of 735 feet. Moon World Resorts envisions “Moon Dubai” contributing significantly to Dubai’s economy, spanning sectors such as hospitality, entertainment, attractions, education, technology, the environment, and space tourism. Sandra G Matthews and Michael R Henderson, founders of Moon World Resorts, express confidence that “Moon Dubai” can comfortably host 10 million annual visitors, becoming the MENA region’s largest and most successful modern tourism project.

The resort will feature amenities like a spa and wellness section, a nightclub, an event center, a global meeting place, a lounge, and an in-house “moon shuttle.” Additionally, the hotel plans to serve as a training platform for various space agencies and astronauts. Moon World Resorts intends to introduce “Sky Villas,” around 300 private residences, with owners gaining exclusive membership to a private club at Moon.

The estimated cost of the Moon resort is a staggering $5 billion, with an anticipated annual revenue of $1.8 billion. Currently in the process of obtaining licenses and planning promotional road shows, the Canadian firm is poised to embark on a one-year pre-development program, followed by a four-year build-out program.

In a strategic move, MWR plans to license four Moon destination resorts globally, situated in North America, Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, and Asia. The initiative aims to extend the unique experience of Moon-themed luxury to diverse regions around the world.
